Arts Day 2025: Celebrating the Spirit of Culture and Creativity at Santhigiri Siddha Medical College

The Arts Day 2025 celebrations at Santhigiri Siddha Medical College concluded with great enthusiasm, marking two vibrant days of cultural expression, student engagement, and creative excellence. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Janani Nishchitha Jnana Tapaswini, the College Manager, in a colorful opening ceremony attended by faculty, students, and staff. The Principal, Prof. Dr. R. Neelavathy, presided over the function and delivered an inspiring address, highlighting how such programs offer a platform for students to explore and express their artistic talents. She emphasized that Santhigiri Siddha Medical College continues to lead among Siddha Medical Colleges in India by actively integrating extracurricular activities with academic excellence.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. G. Mohanambigai, followed by special remarks from Dr. P. Hariharan (Vice Principal), Dr. J. Ninapriya, Dr. L. Shivavengideth, Binod K., Vijayan S., Indu S., and PTA representative Mr. Hansraj R. Their words of encouragement set the stage for an event filled with passion, performance, and purpose.

Across the two-day celebration, the college hosted a wide range of competitions, including classical, folk, and cinematic dance, light music, film songs, poetry recitation, and multilingual speech contests in Malayalam, English, and Tamil. Students also participated in tableau displays, street plays, mime performances, and group dances. Each event reflected the diverse cultural heritage of India, as well as the creativity and social awareness of our students. These competitions not only allowed participants to demonstrate their skills but also fostered team spirit and cultural pride.

Winners of the various events will be honored during the upcoming College Anniversary Celebrations, where they will receive certificates and prizes in recognition of their talent and dedication. The event stood as a testament to Santhigiri Siddha Medical College’s ongoing commitment to holistic development, blending academics with opportunities for self-expression through the arts. This aligns closely with the principles of Siddha medicine, which advocates harmony between mind, body, and spirit.

A gallery of event highlights will soon be available in our Media Gallery, offering a chance to relive the energy and spirit of Arts Day 2025. For more information about our BSMS program, student activities, and upcoming college events, visit our website.
