Anti-Ragging Awareness Class Conducted at Santhigiri Siddha Medical College
Thiruvananthapuram:An Anti-Ragging Awareness Class was conducted at Santhigiri Siddha Medical College on March 25, 2026, jointly organized by the Anti-Ragging Cell and the Student Supporting & Guidance Cell.
The session was led by Retd. District & Sessions Judge Murali Sridhar, who emphasized that educational institutions should be spaces where love, respect, human values, and social responsibility are nurtured. He highlighted the importance of ensuring that every student is well-informed about ragging and its consequences.
During the session, he explained the definition of ragging, its harmful effects, the legal provisions against it, and the long-term impact it can have on students and their families. He also encouraged students to actively participate in eliminating ragging and stressed the importance of cultivating habits such as regular newspaper reading to stay informed and aware.
The session included an interactive segment with B.S.M.S First Year (24th Batch) students, making it engaging and informative.
The program was inaugurated with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. J. Ninapriya, Faculty Head (Students) of the Anti-Ragging Cell and Head of the Gunapatam Marunthial Section. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. V. Ranjitha, Convenor of the Student Supporting & Guidance Cell.
The program, held at the Audio Visual Hall, commenced at 10:00 AM and concluded at 11:00 AM.
