The Vriksham case presentation, held on 13th February 2025 at Santhigiri Siddha Medical College, was an important academic event that delved into various medical conditions through the perspective of Siddha medicine. Organized by the Vriksham Committee, which includes clinical department faculty members, and guided by the vice principal, the event brought together faculty, final-year students, and internees in an engaging and collaborative environment. One of the key presentations explored the management of Azhal Gunmam (chronic fever), focusing on Siddha remedies to alleviate symptoms and shorten the fever’s duration. Another case study discussed the treatment of Thol Poruthu Vaatham (shoulder pain) using Varmam therapy, which manipulates energy points and pressure centers for relief.
The case study on Karappan (edema) highlighted Siddha techniques to manage swelling and fluid retention effectively. Additionally, a presentation on uterine prolapse offered insight into traditional Siddha methods, such as herbal remedies and lifestyle adjustments, to address the condition. The case study on Balavatham (pediatric disorders) covered the treatment of common childhood ailments using Siddha principles. In all, the event provided valuable knowledge, demonstrating the practical applications of Siddha medicine in addressing a variety of health concerns. The presentations were well-received, marking the event as a great success and an enriching learning experience.
