It is interesting to note Siddha as a system of medicine is exposed only very little so far and whereas the vast philosophies and numerous Materia medica is offering an ocean of knowledge to be explored largely and made public. The depth is to be unravelled and the task is enormous since the Tamil literature is also simultaneously to be engaged in order to bring out the full meaning and understanding. Hence the scope for a very challenging era ahead both in higher studies and relevant research. With so many thousands of years of knowledge in treasure and with limited tools at hand to understand, the challenge before the scientific community is mind boggling. Apart from theses Siddha system offers the scope and the demand for higher studies like any other medical science warrants.  Currently the National Institute of Siddha and Government Colleges offers the post-graduation studies with research scope. The doctoral research and analysis is being carried out in many Universities in one pretext or other mostly in the drug side with increasing demand especially after the post pandemic scenario in the fields of research. These research and development activities are started seen in the drug standardization, safety, delivery mechanisms of pharmakinectics to mention a few.  The need for different kinds of medicine and solution to the mysterious issues of human kind definitely poses challenge to medical professionals universally and the public health governance at large. So is the community and public health sector demands too offers vast scope for higher education and specialized training in Siddha. Hence the scope from our limited exposure to this medical science.
