Santhigiri Siddha Medical College hosted an observational visit for the 4th semester BSc students from Little Flower College of Nursing,Manvila . Fifty-five students and two lecturers,  namely Anjitha U and Aswathy Sreekumar, attended the visit. The objective of the visit was to develop an awareness of common drugs used in Siddha system of medicine, understand the manufacturing and storage processes of these medicines, and gain knowledge about various treatment modalities and practices within Siddha system of medicine. They were welcomed by Dr. G. Mohanambigai, Principal In Charge, and Kavya B, Student Counselor, from Santhigiri Siddha Medical College.

After the initial greetings they were taken to the Production Unit were they were guided by Dr. Jyothish Kumar and Dr. Aneesh Murugan provided a guided tour of the production unit, explaining the processes involved in manufacturing Ayurveda and Siddha medicines.

Dr. V.A Mekala, Head of the Department of Sool & Magalir Maruthuvam, provided an engaging overview of Siddha medicine’s treatment modalities and practices.

Following the orientation, a tour of the main campus facilities was conducted for the students. The visit continued with a walk to the herbal garden where Mrs. Sindhu B.P., Assistant Professor – Department of Gunapaadam – Marunthiyal, led a guided tour explaining the different plants and their medicinal uses.

Concluding the day was a visit to the Santhigiri Siddha Medical College and Hospital. Dr.Sreelakshmi attended to the group, providing a thorough overview of the hospital’s facilities and the integration of Siddha medicine in patient care.

The event successfully highlighted the rich tradition and scientific basis of Siddha medicine, leaving the participants with a profound appreciation for this Siddha system of medicine. Thus, the observation visit came to an end by 2:00 PM.
