Financial Literacy Awareness Programme Conducted

A Financial Literacy Awareness Programme was conducted on 18 June 2026 at the College Auditorium by the Financial Literacy Counsellor (FLC) for Pothencode Block, attached to the State Bank of India, Pothencode.

The programme was organized as part of the Financial Literacy Initiative of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), implemented through Financial Literacy Counsellors and monitored by RBI and the Lead Bank. The session focused on creating awareness among students and faculty members regarding banking habits, financial planning, digital banking, cyber security, financial fraud prevention, and various banking services.

The resource person explained the dos and don’ts of banking transactions, precautions against cyber crimes, and the importance of responsible financial management. Participants were also informed about credit facilities and the safe use of digital banking platforms.

The programme was attended by faculty members and students, who actively participated in the interactive session. The awareness programme proved to be highly informative and beneficial in enhancing financial literacy and promoting safe banking practices among the participants.
