🌿 Educational Field Visit to State Institute of Medical Education and Technology Nursing College, Muttathara, Thiruvananthapuram 🌿

As part of the mandatory AYUSH curriculum, 56 seventh-semester nursing students from SI-MET Nursing College participated in an educational field visit to Shanthigiri Siddha Medical College, along with its hospital and botanical garden, on April 25, 2026.

The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to traditional Siddha and Ayurvedic systems of medicine, enhancing their understanding of integrative healthcare practices.

📚 Academic Highlights:

• Dr. A. Jayakalaiarasi delivered an insightful session on the principles and clinical applications of Siddha medicine, offering students a deeper understanding of this ancient healing system.
• A guided botanical garden tour was conducted by Associate Professor B. P. Sindhu, where students explored a wide range of medicinal plants and learned about their therapeutic uses in traditional medicine.

The students, accompanied by three faculty members, actively participated in all sessions and gained valuable hands-on knowledge, enriching their academic experience in holistic healthcare approaches.
