🌿 Educational Field Visit to KIMS Nursing College, Thiruvananthapuram Students🌿
As part of the mandatory AYUSH curriculum, 97 seventh-semester nursing students from KIMS Hospital participated in an educational visit to Shanthigiri Siddha Medical College, along with its hospital and botanical garden, on April 7, 2026.
The visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure to traditional Siddha and Ayurvedic treatment systems.
The academic sessions included:
- Dr. J. Neenapriya delivered an in-depth lecture on the principles and clinical applications of Siddha medicine.
- Prof. V. Ranjitha conducted a session on medicinal plants and their therapeutic uses.
- A guided tour of the botanical garden was led by Prof. V. Ranjitha and Associate Prof. B. P. Sindhu, where students were introduced to a variety of medicinal plant species and their significance in traditional healing practices.
The group, accompanied by three faculty members, actively engaged in the sessions and gained valuable insights into integrative healthcare approaches.
The visit concluded at 10:00 AM with a vote of thanks delivered by student representative M. B. Maheshwar.
