🌿 Educational Field Visit to Siddha Regional Research Institute (SRRI), Poojappura🌿
On 10 March 2026 (Tuesday), Second Professional BSMS students (22nd Batch) accompanied by two faculty members visited the Siddha Regional Research Institute as part of an academic field visit programme. A total of 23 students participated in the visit which was conducted from 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore the Nutritional Museum, where various exhibits related to nutrition, medicinal plants, and traditional dietary concepts were displayed. The museum visit helped students gain practical insights into the relationship between nutrition and traditional Siddha medicine.
The programme also included an interactive session on Drug Standardization, where experts explained the processes involved in ensuring the quality, safety, and standardization of Siddha medicines. The session provided valuable exposure to laboratory practices and modern research approaches used in Siddha drug development.
The field visit served as an enriching academic experience, enabling students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications in Siddha research and pharmaceutical standardization.
